HbcCare participated in the BCAOC Bangladeshi Winter Festival at the Genesis Centre on November 29, 2025 to share back preliminary findings from the Liver Health Literacy Survey. The engagement approach intentionally shifted from program promotion to community accountability, focusing on returning results to participants. A community-facing research poster was used to explain key findings in plain language and facilitate dialogue around liver health knowledge and screening barriers. Conversations emphasized practical steps to strengthen awareness and early detection. Approximately 200 attendees visited the booth, including students, newcomers, and long-settled Bangladeshi-Calgarians. Many appreciated the share-back approach and engaged in thoughtful discussions about hepatitis testing, fatty liver, and access challenges. An open invitation was extended to join a Community Advisory Group (CAG) to guide the next phase of co-designed interventions. The importance of lived experience in shaping culturally grounded solutions was highlighted. Five attendees expressed interest in joining the CAG. The event strengthened trust, visibility, and community partnership for the next phase of HbcCare.
